New china

Nick V alerted me to an announcement by the first lady of two new sets of china (a formal one of 320 and an informal one of 75 settings) and a Family Dining Room rug that have "been in the works for several years" but which were just delivered.

Check out that informal setting. Let me be the first to say "Waiter, there's a bug in my soup."

Sorry. Nick sent me the link, and I saw his note first.

OMG! There's a *magnolia* in my soup! All in all, I think I'd rather have Lady Bird's wildflowers... Or Mrs. Wilson's blue-banded Lenox... or the everyday Blue Willow in my kitchen cabinets...

However, what I can see of the new rug under the table Laura is standing behind in the Family Dining Room looks *very* nice!

The two photos showing Mrs. Bush behind the table exhibiting the china are labelled as showing northwest views. Only the first has the camera pointing toward the northwest corner of the room, with windows on the north wall. The lower picture must be a southwest perspective since the west wall of the room is prominent in both shots.
