West Wing construction

Hmmm. What's going on at the West Wing? Structural steel beam construction? Is the president adding on a rumpus room?

I believe that's part of the new media area. What's your source?

Actually no, that's down near the cabana off the edge of the wall near the Sit Room Watch Center correct?

I'm looking at pg 131 of Collection 2 seeing what it might be. . . .

The photo was sent to me by a visitor. It was just described as "lots of construction". It's shot from under the canopy of the ground floor entrance, looking south.

Well I don't know what it is, but esthetically I'm not crazy about a taller structure bing butted up against the end of that wall.

Perhaps it's a new entrance to the Sit Room?

Are you sure that is the West Wing? I know for a fact that they are rebuilding the tourist security entrance on the east side across from the Treasury. They have erected a corrigated steel wall around the construction and are using a temporary facility for tourists.

The source placed it on West Executive Drive, by the pool.

This is a fascinating move. I'm very interested to know why they'd build this thing. Maybe it's for cannonballs into the pool?
