Blue Room, you saw me standing alone...

Added several images from the NYPL stereographs of the Blue Room from the 1860s, 1870s, and 1890s. You can see the changes in chandelier, sconces, and wall coverings over the decades.

These are wonderful photos of the Blue Room. However, I find the "colorized" version of the c1898 Blue Room highly suspect. I get the feeling the colorizers made those colors up. The yellow and pink in the frieze especially don't seem right.

This has nothing to do with the Blue Room, but I found this small video of the new situation room and though some of you might be interested in it.

Hey the Blogger Gods have relented!
Finally able to log on.
Thanks, Mr. Jensen, wherever you are!

That colorized Blue Room? It's like being *inside* a birthday cake!

Blogger has these periodic glitches. I've given up trying to figure it
out. I've looked into switching over to Typepad or WordPress, but they
seem to have similar complaints.
