Regarding the Green Room wall covering: How is such covering for this and other rooms attached to the wall? Glue?
Duane - as far as I know the wall coverings for such installations are tacked on the wall at the top, just under the cornice, then stretched tautly (love that word, "taut") down to the top of the waiscot (the chair-rail and the painted paneling below that) and then tacked along the top of it. There may or may not be batting or padding (such as cotton felt) to line it. Don't know exactly how they do it at the White House. Then, normally, they cover the tacks, or staples (or whatever they use) with a decorative ribbon called "gimp" that is usually the same color as the wallcovering, to give a finished look to the wall.
I know we don't normally include anything political here, but it's my prayer that the families who lost loved ones today at Virginia Tech will be comforted. May God be with them.
I lived in Colorado at the time of Columbine, now I live in Virginia. There are at least two young women from my community who are presumed dead. One of these lived within walking distance of my house, although I do not know her or her parents.
